Description
Foreword

The Library of Tibetan Works & Archives is pleased to be able to publish Vajrayogini Sadhana and Commentary, a translation of an oral explanation given by Geshe Ngawang Dhargey in Seattle, Washington, U.S.A., in 1981. Traditionally, the practice of tantra is supposed to be kept secret, and it is to be noted that this book is intended purely for those who have received the proper initiations. However, as His Holiness the Dalai Lama has advised, the great misunderstandings to which tantra is often subject to are more harmful than the partial lifting of such secrecy, so there is a necessity for books to be made available which contain authentic explanations.

LTWA is deeply grateful to Gen Rinpoche Geshe Ngawang Dhargey for giving the permission to publish this text. We would also like to acknowledge the fine translation by Alan Wallace and Richard Guard’s final editing.

Sale and Distribution of this book is restricted. It is requested that only those with Highest Yoga Tantra initiation, preferably that of Vajrayogini, should read this book. Responsibility for this lies entirely with the reader and according to tradition, disregarding this could have detrimental results.

We hope that this book will be of benefit to those serious students interested in practicing the Vajra Path to enlightenment for the welfare of all sentient beings.
